Bio-diesel made from food in oil-rich UAEClose

The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually pressed up the price of oil, the of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.

Philip Hampsheir reports from Dubai.
